Here’s a thought-provoking SafeGuard commercial.
Let me translate it for you from Capitalist-nese.
“Hey you docile body! You just went to the market place and made contact with a fellow docile body. That’s icky, isn’t it? Being in physical contact with others? Altogether, isn’t communal life or activity icky as well? Anyways, for the moments that you DO have to go out to your fellow docile bodies, make sure it’s only in the marketplace! (ie to consume our goods) and not to like, you know, plot a better society where everyone is equal! Oh, and in case you come in contact with germs, always remember that we care very much about the health of your children and you. SO for their sake and yours, go buy our soap! It solves everything! I mean just look at the commercial!
And that’s right, we were able to convince you to continue living blindly to this capitalist system, paying all the money you earn from the system to buy the products you help make AND we also managed to kill any or all attempt to re-imagine a world without us. All within 31 seconds.
